I can’t believe my Nitro 60 Pro is on it’s fifth season already! I ordered this sled as a mid distance racing sled and it has not disappointed in the least. I have actually been using it as both a training and racing sled and it is handling and tracking just as well as the day I first took it out. I spent some time taking photos and looking at various sleds at races before I settled on a Prairie Bilt. I also had spoken to owners of Prairie Bilt sleds that I knew and never once did I hear a bad word about their sleds. There’s a reason for that.
Jim and Mary have been absolutely excellent to work with and provide genuine caring customer support. I have called over the past few years like having to get my sled bag repaired due to my negligence, and Mary fixed it up at the lowest cost to me while keeping it functional. I’ve discussed my mushing needs and Mary has decades of knowledge in helping you determine what products would be best for your needs and Jim can help with any one-off’s you might require.
Maintenance on this sled has been absolutely minimal and it has seen a few crashes here and there. Not only would I not hesitate to buy another Prairie Bilt sled but I’d love to get a second one for guest mushers or as a backup as I don’t really need to drive anything else.

I can’t say enough about this sled! My friend Mike Williams Jr. recommended the Nitro Pro 60 to me when I asked which PB sled he had- after admiring his set-up with the trail dragger added. Another friend, Amanda Otto, recommended the PB based on it’s excellent steering/handling. I’m so happy with the sled I ordered another for my husband, Will, this fall. I’d consider it a Cadillac compared to any other sled I’ve driven in my 45 years of sled riding. I’ve used many sleds. The thought, designs, attention to the engineering Jim and Mary Ann put into the design is second to none. I was around many other mushers in the Iditarod who reported crashing down the steps or in various places. I did not. I was thankful to have a sled that can handle a big load and a big team while steering perfectly through whatever I went through while maintaining fast speeds. The brake is a beast! As is the drag. Again, the best set up I’ve experienced. Mary Ann has chosen very durable and water resistant fabrics for the bag. They’re perfectly fitted and secured in a way so there is no slop. Lots of great pockets. The cooler bag has an insulated top for helping to keep what’s inside insulated as well as your bottom when you sit on it. The gear bag is easy to take on and off and a bale of straw fit’s perfectly on the back of the tail dragger if you take the gear back off. Their runner plastic is also very easy to use and I’m a big fan of their “white lightening” plastic.
The customer service Jim and Mary Ann provide is amazing. They’re so thorough and helpful. I’ve had some time crunches they’ve put in the extra effort to make happen. Jim was also very kind in making a back support of Will’s sled! We will be customers for many years to come.
